Cellula
Year of production
2021
Resulting from work in several stages, Cellula by Anthony Despras is a creation imagined following the global health crisis that we experienced from 2020. Through the presence of an entirely male community, this piece testifies to a collective subject to rules that could disrupt or even threaten the vital force but also freedom. This will result in an extreme physicality caused by the energy of the nineteen dancers on stage. The urgency to live and above all to survive will be translated by jazz, urban corporeality but also in connection with clubbing dance. The starting point of all creation being for Anthony Despras music, he connects these different aesthetics through a precise, even visceral, rhythmic musical treatment.
