Bienvenue
For her third show, Eugénie Rebetez transforms herself into a cleaning lady, the antithesis of the divas whose finery she borrowed before. “This time,” she explains, “the sequins were properly hoovered to leave room for what remains when the lights are switched off (…). Cleaning is touching and taking care of something else, and, for some people, to cleanis to earn a living.” Here, the body and the setting are one, exterior surroundings merge with inside space. From her body-home, her shell, the dancer creates sensory and musical links with the outside. Alternating intensity and levity, poetry and laughter, the everyday and the surreal, Eugénie Rebetez works with director Martin Zimmermann to create a comic household where chaos and order reign. After Gina and Encore, the performer revamps her stagecraft in a solo where the self can become someone else.
