BAOBABS
Teaser - Groupe et Compagnie Grenade
Baobabs is an ecological tale, a cry of alarm for children and teenagers on the state of the planet. Twelve dancers aged 9 to 14, awaken our consciences by challenging adults about the legacy they leave them. Surveying the planet like a tribe driven out by drought, the dancers evolve in the heart of video projections that illustrate its beauty and the destruction it undergoes: earthquakes, forest fires, collapsing ice floe, plastic pollution of the seas, mountains of waste… Breathtakingly accurate, they seize this ecological tale with incredible maturity, claiming a dance that awakens consciences! The choreographer Josette Baïz created the group Grenade, made up of sixty dancers between the ages of 7 and 18, whose practices combine hip hop, contemporary, Indian, African and oriental dances. Combining their talents with high technical standards, it allows them to excel in this art and offers them a space dedicated to their view of the world.
