Makau dances « Tupuna », a aparima. « Apa » means move and « rima » means hand. The aparima mixes hand and body moves to tell a story in a kind of elaborate pantomime.

“Tupuna” means “ancestors”, an hymn to the ancients who transmitted the Polynesian culture orally from generation to generation.
That “solo” was recorded on board the “Rhapsody of the seas”, a cruise ship visiting Tahiti.
