Adieu
Adieu (1994) is a choreographic piece by François Raffinot for 7 dancers set to music by Pascal Dusapin.
The composition ofAdieu is inspired by The Farewell Symphony by Joseph Haydn and, in particular, by the structure of the last movement. This piece pays tribute to Dominique Bagouet.
This piece was created at the Avignon Festival on July 9th, 1994. On the crest of its success at Avignon, this piece was also presented at the Octobre en Normandie Festival, at the Le Volcan theatre, Le Havre, and at the Opéra-Comique, Paris. The piece also toured extensively overseas: as part of the Tanz im August Festival, Berlin, in August 1994, in Djibouti, Kenya and Madagascar in February 1995, at the New Moves Across Europe Festival, Scotland, in March 1995, in Croatia in June 1995, and again in autumn 1996 for a month’s tour in Asia (Indonesia, Cambodia, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, China).
