A Posto
Created for the Torino Danza festival on October 15, 2011
In “A Posto,” birds are singing and three young women are enjoying the sunshine in the countryside, savoring the moment and their picnic basket. They enter and exit the stage, their eyes scanning the room in search of a body, a silhouette, an object. Everything seems to escape them, their gestures, the objects that slip away, roll or flow. This charming, fresh country scene constantly plays between fiction and reality to present a light, fluid and mischievous ballet that surreptitiously slips into a more offbeat scenario with small touches.
The insects begin to sting, the trio slowly disintegrates, and everything ends up spiraling into absurdity.
With these whimsical summer games, imbued with black humor, Ambra Senatore constructs a choreographic puzzle that offers clues and hints but no solution.
