3 in passacaglia
Yasuyuki Endo has created a trio on pointes revisiting the classical and neoclassical language.
Following the huge public success of “Mayday…”, Yasuyuki Endo, dance soloist and assistant to Frédéric Flamand, has created a trio on pointes to Halvorsen’s Passacaglia based on a theme of Handel, revisiting the classical and neoclassical language in his own way.
“The trio “3 in Passacaglia”, by and with Yasuyuki Endo, (…) is a sheer wonder, a jewel of technical precision, rigour and emotion. The piece alternates between duets and a trio to the rhythm of the passacaille and the sarabande with variations in G minor by Halvorsen based on Handel. Contact is light, rapid, refined and carried along. A work highlighting the elegance and technique of pointes by the very graceful Ji-Young Lee before
coming to an end to thunderous applause.” Didier Philispart, FRÉQUENCE SUD
