Marie Zighera
Dancer-choreographer born in Paris, Marie Zighéra trained in contemporary dance with Laura Sheleen, dancer for Martha Graham. In 1970, at the request of the director Marcel Maréchal, she came to Lyon and arranged several ballets for the latter’s staging at the Théâtre du 8ème. At the same time, she developed a school and created her company with Didier Deschamps in 1970. During this period, she worked on the different currents of contemporary dance with Caroline Carlson, Merce Cunningham and Robert Kovich.
Founder of La Maison de la Danse de Lyon, she actively participates in the dissemination of her art and its openness to the greatest masters. In 1988, she organized in Lyon, the first “BIENNALE OFF” of dance for la Biennale de la danse. Along with her work as a choreographer, she trained in the practice of yoga. This contribution will be fundamental for the development of its research and its teaching.
