Veronica Vallecillo
Veronica Vallecillo is a Franco-Spanish artist trained in classical, contemporary and flamenco dance. Between tradition (flamenco) and modernity (contemporary), Veronica has created a unique, inventive style in her works and her dancing alike. In 2001, Veronica founded her own company in Paris; her works like “LOBOTOMIX mode d’emploi” (LOBOTOMIX, instructions for use), “Pourquoi j’ai mangé mon mari” (Why I ate my husband), “Hippopoflamencus”, “ALB’ATROZ du goudron sur nos ailes de géant” (ALB’ATROZ, tar on our giant’s wings), “ALB’ATROZ II le temps de la chute” (ALB’ATROZ, the time of the fall), “Redressage Redresser Redresse toi solo guerrier” (Straight straighten up stand up straight you solo warrior) explored the issues of the time.
Veronica has also danced with the Montalvo-Hervieu dance company, in “On danfe” and “La bossa Fataka” and has collaborated on many other works in theatre, cinema and opera, as a coach, choreographer, set designer and dancer. Veronica has set up original and participative awareness-raising projects like: “La construction d’une image vivante – Happening pédagogique” (construction of a living image – pedagogical happening), “les bals sévillans” (Sevillan balls) and “Laboratorio flamenco, su baile, su cante”.
Veronica is active in flamenco and jazz groups as a dancer and a flamenco choreographer. She also teaches flamenco dance in Paris (Flamenco association in France) with the particular aim of educating people about the types of songs and choreographic composition suitable for flamenco dance.
