Francky Tohouegnon
Francky Tohouegnon is a filmmaker, director and scriptwriter from Benin. Born in 2000, he discovered a passion for cinema at a very young age and began his career making vignettes (short films). To earn a living, he worked on a number of artistic clips, advertising spots and short films as an assistant director. At the same time, he decided to embrace his second passion and became a portrait photographer. His interest in images and frame composition led him to work as a cameraman on film and television documentaries.
It was the discovery of contemporary dance that prompted him, in 2020, to make his first documentary film Indélébile, on which he worked for over four years and which he produced with his production company Chapitre 3 Films (Next Level Films co-production), a production company set up by Franklin Tohouegnon, his twin brother). During this period, he directed Symphonie, a 7-minute short film on the subject of self-acceptance, which was selected for several film festivals in Europe and America and was also bought by the French-English streaming platform Gonella. His third film, Courriers vides (Empty Letters) tells the story of his own journey. This film was bought by Canal+ International and has been selected for over two hundred film festivals. It has also won some thirty awards. Francky Tohouegnon still works in collaboration with his twin brother Franklin Tohouegnon.
Today, Francky Tohouegnon is a trainer, scriptwriter/director and producer/distributor.
