Tangokinesis

Founded in 1992, Tangokinesis comprises 8 outstanding dancers, from classical backgrounds (often the case for the women dancers), and from traditional or tango backgrounds (often the case for men dancers). The spirit that drives the company is based on a resolutely contemporary vision of Argentinean tango, a choreographic expression in its own right, which can totally emancipate itself from the music of the same name. As such, in the company’s repertoire, works referred to as classical can be found alongside others that are absolutely innovational, mixing some rather surprising music, such as Cuban sound, scores by Stravinsky and even the speech made by General de Gaulle in Quebec.
