Paolo Provenzano
After an intense twenty-year career as a professional dancer, and keen to pass on his passion for dance, in 2009 he obtained a state diploma as a jazz dance teacher, thanks to which he now teaches at a number of conservatoires as well as at the Centre National de la Danse. His desire to pass on and share his passion is expressed in a series of short films (20 video dances), in which he learns how to successfully complete video projects on his own, often with the support of professionals in the field. In 2015, he took a course offered by Ateliers Varan and graduated as a documentary film writer-director.Since then, he has worked with a number of artists to produce artistic videos, including music videos, recordings of shows and teasers for plays,
As a director, he produced reportage footage for the Musée Grévin in Paris in 2017/18, as well as auditions for the new Paradis Latin cabaret revue ‘L’oiseau Paradis’. Artistic research has led him to make two documentaries, portraits of artists and a documentary on Umbanda. He is also collaborating on a web documentary on the memory of Matt MATTOX, an American dancer, choreographer and teacher.
