Kei Miyata

KEI MIYATA

Kei Miyata studied English and American dramatic literature at the Saint Margaret’s College in Tokyo, her home city. During her explorations into new opportunities offered by performing arts, she met Saburo Teshigawara in 1985, who trained her in dance and who went on to found the Karas Company with her. Highly interested in music, she frequently created musical adaptations of Saburo Teshigawara’s choreographies. Today, she is co-artistic director and administrator for the company.
