Lolita
The LOLITA collective was founded in 1981 and brings together artists, dancers (trained by Alwin Nikolais), scenographers and musicians in search of original forms.
LOLITA emphasises and openly asserts its collective nature: it is the only group to have developed this approach by signing up together and sharing the copyright between all the participants, considering choreography, dance, music, set design, costumes and lighting on an equal footing.
The artists work together on solos, duets and joint pieces.
The collective does not aim for a ‘unified style’ in movement. Each member seeks to assert his or her own movement style, with the aim of bringing them together in a spectacular form specific to the group.
LOLITA has choreographed a dozen shows, including their signature piece “Qui a tué Lolita?”.
Its shows have toured in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Japan and Brazil.
The group also creates spectacular one-off events commissioned and produced by cultural companies and communications agencies.
The LOLITA GROUP disbanded in 1989. Since then, each member of the group has created his own company and his own shows.
