Céline Léfèvre
In February 2004, after working with a number of dance and theatre companies as a choreographer, dancer and actress, and developing her career as a performer in a wide range of styles, from classical to hip hop, jazz and contemporary, Céline Lefèvre decided to set up her own company: C’MOUVOIR.
Céline has been dancing since the age of 5. She began with classical dance and then modern jazz, and very quickly discovered the hip hop movement by watching the Hip Hop programme presented by Sidney.
She learnt to dance by watching and imitating her older brother, who showed her the latest moves.
At the age of 17, she joined one of the first hip hop dance associations in 95, ‘Mistikacton’, before meeting the world of Parisian hip hop, via the Place Carrée at Châtelet, nightclubs, and a course given by the American precursors of this dance at the TCD (now the Micadanses studio) in 1998.
There she met a group of young women who wanted to form an all-female crew called NBCie. Together, they created a show for discos and went to Los Angeles to attend the B.Boy Summit and exchange ideas with dancers from all over the world.
After taking her baccalauréat and spending a year studying philosophy at university, Céline specialised in stand-up dancing (locking, poppin, house, new style). In addition to her classical and contemporary jazz background, she has a parallel career as a professional dancer and actress, working for variety TV programmes (Faites la fête, Vivement dimanche, les années Tube, Hit Machin) and music videos, singers ( Mc Solaar ) and working with various hip hop and contemporary choreographers/directors ( Des Equilibres, Choréam, Trafic de styles, Franck II Louise, Jaques Webert, Stephanie Loîc , Laura Scozzi, Coline Sereau, Anjelin Pleljocaj… ), notably at the Rencontres de la Villette and Suresnes Cités danse festivals, and at the Opéra Bastille. ..
In 2014, she took to the stage at L’Olympia with an extract from her latest one-woman show, ‘Ma Class’ Hip Hop’, which has been performed over 90 times… until 2020.
Today, she is a state-certified contemporary dance teacher who still choreographs, dances and performs, alongside her work as a SHIATSU practitioner since 2019, Traditional Chinese Methods practitioner and DO-IN instructor.
