Born in 1973, Vladimir Golubev became interested in urban dance at the age of fifteen and took up dance lessons at school.

In 1996 he joined the Chelyabinsk Theatre of Contemporary Dance. This company, formed in 1992, was a pioneer in contemporary Russian dance, winning the Novosibirsk competition and, in 1997, the special jury prize in Vitebsk, Belarus. This recognition brought with it permission to leave Russia. The company was subsequently invited to the EDDC (European Dance Development Centre) in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Vladimir Golubev took part in Chelyabinsk Theatre ventures until 2005.

From 2000 onwards, he developed his own community project under the name of the Colony of Non-Strict Dance. He collaborated with the Korean dancer Yin Yang Kim and worked on the Kenyan-Russian project “Dance Traffic” in 2005. He composed the pieces “Non-Solo” in 2006 and “Not Unsteady Support” in 2007. He is currently working on a new piece, the duet “Lost moments-2”.
