Gustavo Fataki
Gustavo Fataki began his dance studies at the age of 7, with classical ballet and jazz lessons. Graduated in Image and Sound in 2008, he was also involved in activities related to dance at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), notably within the Contemporary Dance Group of the university, where he studied contemporary dance under the direction of Francisco Silva. In 2006, he joined the URZE Companhia de Dança, also directed by Francisco Silva, participating in workshops and choreographic creations with renowned professionals.
Throughout his career in these companies, he received several distinctions at dance festivals, such as Festidança and Festival de Dança de Londrina. In 2008, he was selected for the New Choreographers Course with Renato Vieira, where he created the duo Momento Num Café, inspired by a poem by Manuel Bandeira.
Fataki also specializes in the relationship between dance and audiovisual, producing video dances presented in national and international festivals, such as De.Pés.Postos, Lilium and Entre Passos. Currently he is a dancer at Balé da Cidade de Taubaté, where he has participated in shows like A Fada dos Espelhos and Matéria-prima.
Since 2010, he has been a trainer in contemporary dance for the “Arte nos Bairros” project and has produced the dance video Evas Contemporânea, selected for international festivals. As a performer-creator, he distinguished himself with solos such as Mémoire and Estorvos, as well as duets presented in prestigious artistic events.
