Djodjo is a multidisciplinary artist. His artistic journey began in the streets of Kinshasa, with an open-air theater school called Les Béjarts (The Good and Eloquent Young Artists). Djodjo Kazadi’s artistic journey is inseparable from the historical and political context of the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2000 he had a decisive meeting with the Congolese choreographer Faustin Linyekula, a pioneer of contemporary dance in the DRC. He joined Kabako Studios managed by Faustin Linyekula. Performing dancer from 2001 to 2007, he participated in all the company’s creations: Spectaculary Empty (2001), Triptyque sans titre (2002), Spectaculary Empty II (2003), Radio Okapi (2004), Le Festival des Mensonges (2005- 2006), The Dialogue Series: III. Dinozord (2006). In his artistic approach, Djodjo Kazadi relies on the memory of bodies, questions traditions, to seek a resolutely contemporary movement in his artistic expression. 

The Kazyadance company

Djodjo Kazadi created the Kazyadance company in 2005 in Kinshasa. In 2009 he set up his company in the Paris region, in Montreuil and then in Malakoff. He moved to Mayotte in 2015, and since 2017, he has directed the artistic factory Le Kingdom des Fleurs. A space for research, creation and cultural mediation.
