Alex Deutinger
Alex Deutinger studied translation at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, as well as contemporary dance at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. In 2010, he was involved in the DanceWEB programme. He has worked with such artists as Juan Domínguez, Philippe Riéra, Arantxa Martínez & Lola Rubio, Tomás Aragay & Sofía Asencio. As a performer, he has worked with Rose Breuss, Oleg Soulimenko, Dani Brown, Sofia Mavragani, Anna Mendelssohn, Alexander Gottfarb and Christine Gaigg. He is one of the members of the Austrian art collective The Loose Collective, which brings together dancers, musicians and choreographers.
He has been working with Marta Navaridas since 2007. They have both studied translation and interpreting as well as dance. Up to now, they have choreographed ‘Look at Them Now!’, ‘Your Majesties’, ‘Fandango and Common Consciousness’, ‘Speaking of Which’, and ‘On the Other Hand’. They have had residencies in a wide range of places across Europe, including Linz, Vienna, and Hamburg. Their shows have been performed in, among other towns, Stockholm, Madrid, Zurich, Amsterdam, Bern, Dublin, Vienna, Zagreb, Munich, Copenhagen, London, Cincinnati and New York. They have lived and worked in Graz in Austria since 2008.
