Anthony Despras
Since obtaining his Diplôme d’Etat de Professeur de Danse Jazz in 2010, Anthony has been passing on his passion for dance by giving workshops all over France and especially in Paris, a catalyst for the profession.
Anthony was spotted during a course at the Centre des Arts Vivants in Paris. The production team and director of Joséphine Ange Gardien fell under the spell of his style and the atmosphere that emanated from his classes. They offered her a 1st contract as a choreographer for a shoot in the popular TF1 series. His professionalism and the quality of his choreography quickly led to numerous collaborations.
He seized the opportunity offered by Disneyland Paris to establish his reputation. Starting out as a dancer on shows and various events, Disneyland asked him to choreograph major shows such as ‘Pirates and Princesses’, ‘#SurpriseMickey’ and many others. Anthony has risen to the challenge and brought his own modern, contemporary style to the show, while incorporating the codes specific to the Disney universe.
In 2020, Anthony reached a new milestone when Anne-Marie Porras asked him to create a piece for a class in her Epsedanse professional training programme: ‘Les Nouveaux Sauvages’.
Buoyed by his success, he already has new creation requests for next year, including one with the Jeune Ballet de la Cie Anne-Marie Porras: N.I.D 2.
