Charlotte Dauphin was born in Paris, France.

She is a cross-disciplinary artist whose practice encompasses performance, filmmaking and fine arts.

Charlotte initially trained as a ballet dancer. She then studied  communication (MA – Edhec, Fr), art history (MA – Courtauld, University  of London, UK) and performance (MA – Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts,  UK). She has continuously worked with different forms of visual  expression as an artist, mostly sculpture (bronze, resin, body  adornments/jewellery), performance (dance, music, theatre), filmmaking  and photography. They form the basis of her artistic practice.

Her work is informed and characterised by her poetic thinking,  sculptural rendering and architectural constructions. It investigates  time, memory, intimacy and materiality, through transformation, duration  and space.

In parallel to her work as an artist, she acts as the artistic director of Dauphin,  her namesake brand. Her creations have garnered international  recognition, regularly appearing in the international editions of Vogue,  Numéro, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, but also in national  publications, and independent magazines (AnOther, Dazed, etc.). It  regularly appears on the likes of Billie Eillish, Juliette Binoche,  Alicia Vikander, princess Charlene, Margot Robbie, or Selena Gomez.

Dauphin released her first feature film L’Autre in 2019,  starring Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Anouk Grinberg and James Thierrée. The  film toured in international film festivals to critical acclaim and  garnered nominations and a best actress award for Bergès-Frisbey in  Taormina.

Her work has been exhibited in film festivals around the world and in cultural institutions such as at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Serpentine Galleries in London. It is also part of the permanent collections of the MAD Museum in Paris.
