Charles Cré-Ange
Compagnie Cré-Ange
Charles Cré-Ange has developed a highly-complex universe throughout his professional career. Through his diversified experiences, embracing artistic innovation and technical expertise related to experimentation, he proves he is an incredibly mature artist.
His passion for sharing is highly-perceivable through his dynamic and effective presence in the field, where he puts his skills and know-how to use in diverse partnerships and where he constantly shows his desire to meet, to discuss and to exchange points of view.
Many examples attest to the special status and the high regard in which he is held by his peers in France and throughout the world. Winner of the Rencontres Internationales Chorégraphiques de Bagnolet (International Choreographic Encounters), presided by Merce Cunningham, he is regularly called upon by prestigious establishments abroad (Helsinki Opera, Dance Theatre of Ireland, etc.) to create choreographies that give his work an international dimension.
He has been invited to imagine choreographic events ranging from the reproduction of repertoire works to creations for Conservatoires nationaux de région (CNR – National Regional Conservatories) (Cergy 2007, Versailles 2008).
His recent partnerships with national structures (the Orchestre national de Jazz from 2001 to 2004, the Eric Watson Quartet in 2008) illustrate his talent for large-scale projects and his passion for combining a variety of artistic forms.
Totally in harmony with our rapidly-changing society, he constantly calls his savoir-faire into question and explores new avenues ranging from the technical expertise of live performance to multimedia technology.
The projects that he proposes today explore an unprecedented route, which is as comprehensive as possible, where the choreographic partition plays a leading role and where the desire to “unite around” goes hand-in-hand with the need to “discuss with”.
The bond, the gift of self, a certain notion of selflessness, are questions that recur in his fields of exploration where the quest for emotion still prevails.
