Compagnie Propos
Compagnie Propos was founded in 1991 by Denis Plassard, one year after the creation of his first solo of the same name. The creation of new choreographies (over 40 in almost 30 years!) and the dissemination of works from the repertoire have historically formed the core of its activities. Denis Plassard’s choreographies are extremely varied in form, bringing together contemporary dancers and artists from different backgrounds to explore the choreographer’s playful universe.
As well as creating and presenting shows, Compagnie Propos develops unique off-stage adventures. This aspect of the creative work has become increasingly important over the years. It takes extremely varied forms: photo projects, choreographed balls, games, audio guides, performances and so on. What all these adventures have in common is that they bring together a concept (often expressed as the rules of the game) and a relationship with the audience based on conviviality and sharing.
In its 30 years of existence, Cie Propos has established itself as a key player on the artistic scene, building on a unique identity tinged with humour and humanity. It has forged many local links through its residencies and projects.
The company is supported by the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication (DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and the City of Lyon.
