Since 2015, Le Scribe, led by Adel El shafey and Maëlle Deral has been developing choreographic languages with multiple influences and at the service of its creations. Bodies, engaged spatially and physically, are vectors of ideas, images and symbols, which implies a real work of writing where the gestures and articulations of choreographic sequences are braided in such a way as to provoke the spectator’s reflection, not without taking risks. The subject matter, choice of performers and musical research are all elements that contribute to the singularity of the company’s shows.

Logos is the company’s first piece. It won the jury prize at Hiveroclites in 2016 at CDC les Hivernales. It has been performed during the season at leading local and regional venues such as the CCN d’Aix en Provence, Le Ballet National de Marseille and Golovine Theatre, partner of the new creation Abysses. For the 2019/2020 season, Le Scribe was associate artist at the Théâtre Golovine. The pieces Logos and Abysses are scheduled for the Avignon Festival in July 2021 at this venue. In 2021, Game of Dance, an outdoor performance, was created for the festival Un Air de Danse organized by Ballet Preljocaj. The show, Yalla, my friends, sees the light of day in February 2023 at the CCN d’Aix-en-Provence, partner and co-producer of this project. Le Scribe is currently working on its new creation Pacific Square, scheduled to premiere in March 2026. Le Scribe is supported by the DRAC Paca as part of its project aid scheme, the Région Sud, the city of Aix-en-Provence and the Département 13.

Since its creation, Compagnie Le Scribe has been initiating cultural projects that bring dance to places where it has little or no presence. It imagines projects in a variety of contexts, adapting to each situation. From EAC projects to Culture et Santé and parent-child workshops, the mediation projects initiated by Le Scribe are protean. The company strives to renew its approach and create spaces for encounters by mobilizing different audiences and cultural partners.
