Cie Empreintes
Supported by the nonprofit organization La Fabrique à Rêves, the company Empreintes has been actively producing and supporting the work of choreographer Clémence Baubant, particularly since 2020.
The company emerged as a collective in 2012 during the Urbaka Festival in Limoges. For that edition, a performance was created exploring the dialogue between body and sound in urban space. This experimental trio—featuring two dance performers and a drummer-percussionist—laid the foundation for the company’s artistic vision: a transversal approach in which dance and music become a single skin.
This founding dialogue continues to guide the company’s commitment to site-specific and “outside-the-walls” work, presenting choreography both on stage and in unconventional spaces. Dance is approached as both virtuosic and functional, scholarly and popular. It unfolds through multifaceted encounters—with places, sounds, perspectives, sensory experiences, or other dance forms to be reinvented.
