Since his emergence in the landscape of French jazz at the beginning of the years 2000, virtuoso trumpet player Médéric Collignon takes part in numerous projects of various styles, from New Orleans to contemporary experiments. With a degree from Charleville-Mezières conservatory, the musicien puts aside his trumpet for the cornet, with which he feels more at ease. Having settled in Paris in 1997, Médéric Collignon attracts attention as a member of the National Jazz Orchestra then becomes a main element of various groups (like Bernard Struber’ Jazztet, Andy Emler’s Méga Octet,  Fred Pallem’s Sacre du Tympan…), where his double competence as soloist and interpreter is much appreciated. Author of several solo albums, he takes up again Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess in 2006, a remarkable success proving his talent and sense of innovation.

This confirmed musician gifted with overflowing imagination and infinite inspiration has passed by almost all possible styles since the beginning of his career : Salsa, Bal, Be-Bop Jazz 60’s-70’s, Funk, Trash, New Orleans, R’n’B, Contemporary Jazz, Modern Jazz, Ethno-Funk, Electronic. Nowadays he uses electro effects, multipads, all sorts of toys… Always forbidding himself to close any door.
