Founded in 2014, Hangars Numériques is a Digital Art Centre in La Réunion, dedicated to supporting and promoting hybrid and digital artistic creation from overseas. The organisation is actively involved in setting up innovative initiatives to explore the links between the living and digital technologies, covering a broad spectrum from traditional to the most avant-garde approaches.
Particularly involved in the study of the transition of the dancing body to the digital age and the creation of ‘Animated Dance’, Hangars Numériques carries out in-depth research and artistic productions in the field of dance and digital technologies. These activities encompass a wide range of innovative projects, highlighting the intersections between dance, technology and contemporary artistic expression.
The Centre d’Art is thus developing a Research Centre for Animated Dance, exploring the creative and technological frontiers of the constantly evolving genre.
Conceived as a research/creation laboratory, it is open to amateurs and professionals alike in the fields of dance and image. It is also a playful way of experimenting with children. Centred around dance, the centre works in synergy with the Music Centre, also developed by the association, enriching the interaction between artistic disciplines.
