Karine Ponties has created over fifty works, including LOSS | Home far away from home (Fortuna prize at the Kaunas Theatres Award in Lithuania), Same Same (Special Mention of the Jury for best dance performance in the Czech Republic), Every Direction Is North (Golden Mask for best contemporary dance performance in Russia), Holeulone (best dance performance in French-speaking Belgium) and Brutalis (SACD prize), which have been performed on 4 continents and in 39 countries.
Exploring forms and formats with an eye to audiences, the choreographer’s research has revolved around translation. Translating, rewriting, not us in the world, but the world in us, as living beings among other living beings. Translation as mediation between the plurality of cultures and the unity of the human being. The universe of his creations is characterised by his sense of the absurd, his exploration of intimacy, the organic and human relationships.
Numerous collaborations with composers (Jan Kuijken, Dominique Pauwels, David Monceau, etc.) and visual artists (Thierry Van Hasselt, Stefano Ricci, Lawrence Malstaf, Stefano Franceschetti, Cristiano Carloni, Yoann Stehr, Stefan Dubrana, Wilkie Branson, etc.) emphasise the interdisciplinary aspect of the company.
