Biennale de la danse

La Biennale de la danse is a festival held in the Lyon metropolitan area every two years, in odd-numbered years. Created in 1984 by Guy Darmet, it was dedicated to exploring thematic programming until the departure of its founder and the arrival of Dominique Hervieu, who succeeded him in 2012.
Since then, the Biennale de la danse has established itself as a festival of international creation, ever more open to the world.
In 2022, Tiago Guedes will take over as Artistic Director of the Biennale and the Maison de la danse (Lyon). We have gathered here a collection of archives that retraces the history of events over the years.
