Alain Michard is a choreographer and visual artist.

He pays particular attention to the everyday, to objects and to modest lives. He uses them as a favourite subject, a material, but also as a context for his creations.
His artistic project is conceived as a simultaneously intimate and collective experience, which seeks to create a closeness tinged with disquiet.
Alternately on stage, on screen, and in the public space, he works in the off-field, as a space for projecting the imaginary. His taste for the offbeat, for the fragility of balances and things, gives these pieces a tone that can be described as ‘worried humour’. His favourite themes are the processes and issues of community, and travel as a movement and dynamic of experience.
