Anne Décoret-Ahiha
Anne Décoret-Ahiha is a dance anthropologist, author, producer, lecturer and trainer.
Based on her doctoral thesis, her book Les Danses exotiques en France, (Editions du Centre National de la Danse, 2004) received the Grand Prix de la critique: best book on dance in 2005 as well as the Outstanding Publication 2006 Award from The Congress on Research in Dance (New York). She has published numerous academic and general public articles on dance in magazines, newspapers, collective works and exhibition catalogues in France and abroad. On Numeridanse, she is the author of a dozen ‘Thématiques’ exploring the field of dance.
As a trainer, speaker and coach, she designs and runs training courses and events at the crossroads of culture, movement arts and management, for organisations in the public and private sectors.
She devises ‘show conferences’, games and educational formulas, such as Echauffements du spectateur©, to facilitate the encounter between the art of choreography and the audience.
A regular visitor to Benin (West Africa), where she has family links, in 2020 she set up Jaï Production and produced Chaos Elegant, a piece for 8 performers by Beninese choreographer Arouna Guindo (co-produced by the Institut Français and supported by Le Centre Lobozounkpa), which will be performed in Cotonou, Parakou and Ouidah (Benin) from 2021 to 2023.
On Numeridanse, she produces digital content on choreographic creation in Africa and publishes articles on the medium Noo’cultures.
