Souhail Marchiche
Born in Morocco in 1983, he started out in urban hip-hop dance, before moving on to the stage as a dancer/performer with companies that have nurtured his artistic universe (Génération hip-hop / Cie kafig, Magic Dancing / Karine Saporta, Bodies in Urban Spaces / Willi Dorner). In 2007, he and his partner Mehdi Meghari became co-artistic directors of the Melting Force collective (Saint-Étienne), choreographing and dancing the pieces Révélation, U-NIL and De la rue à la scène. With En quête (2011), they formalized their independence by creating their own company, Dyptik, which revealed its full maturity in their first eponymous creation Dyptik with the Malian company Dogmen G (2014). In Saint-Étienne, he also wrote and directed the shows LaTriparasundari (2010), L’imaginarium d’orpheus (2012) and Va, vis et danse (2014) for the Biennale de la Danse de Lyon. Both choreographer and teacher, he fully integrates transmission into his artistic approach, working with a variety of audiences for whom he builds choreographic interventions as diverse as his dancers.
