Nathalie Lecomte
Nathalie Lecomte, history of dance researcher and professor, was scientific director and author of the “Dictionnaire de la Musique en France aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles” (Fayard) and the “Dictionnaire de la Danse” (Larousse). Her article “Les livrets des ballets de cour sous le règne de Louis XIV” was published in “L’Histoire de la danse : repères dans le cadre du diplôme d’État” (Centre national de la danse) (National Centre for Dance). She is currently working on a new project on the history of dance to be published by the CND (National Centre for Dance).
Along with Laura Naudeix and Jean-Noël Laurenti, she established “La Danse ancienne et moderne ou Traité historique de la danse de Louis de Cahusac” publication (published by Desjonquères / Centre national de la danse). She is a member of the scientific council of the Association for a Research Centre for the Performing Arts of the 17th and 18th Centuries, which proposes publications and organizes symposiums. She has penned numerous articles for a variety of reviews (La recherche en danse, L’avant-scène opera, Danza Italiana etc.) and collective works.
She holds a 3rd level doctorate in music and the aesthetics of musical arts and was a researcher at the Baroque Music Centre in Rueil-Malmaison (1996-1997). She was also a research fellow at the “Centre des arts de la scène du CNRS” (National Scientific Research Council Centre for Performing Arts) from 1999.
Nathalie Lecomte was scientific curator for the exhibition “Scènes de bal, bals en scène” presented at the National Centre for Dance in Pantin in 2011. She was also one of the authors of the catalogue for this exhibition.
