Matri(k)is
Over the years and creations, the art of Abou Lagraa has mixed genres and disturbed the tracks to share with us a generous dance, never abandoning the sensitive, the immediate, the thrill. Stretched between East and West, the couple and the loneliness, the roots and the future, the choreographer makes a clean sweep to devote himself to this vein that ran through his pieces without ever emerging: this constantly renewed mystery of femininity. Matri(k)is is a diptych in homage to the figure of the woman, mother, saint and harlot. A new choreography as an extension of Abu Lagraa’s reflection on sexual identity, the figure of the double, dispossession, feminine solidarity and the matrix woman.
