Holeulone
Prix de la Critique de la Communauté Française de Belgique du Meilleur spectacle de danse contemporaine 2007
Iconic show in Dame de Pic’s production history, Holeulone is a piece for two male dancers and animated ink born from the collaboration between choreographer Karine Ponties and visual artist Thierry Van Hasselt, after their first “child,” solo Brutalis, in 2002.
Holeulone develops the bond between movement and image, and delves into the inner world of a troubled man: the changing rhythms of his thoughts, his actual and imaginary memories, the clarity and confusion of his perceptions… But then, at one moment, his twin brother appears — a kind of inner actor very similar to his own self – that he loses all balance…
This piece was awarded the French Community of Belgium’s Critics Prize for Best Contemporary Dance Performance in 2007, and also received a special mention at the 2008 MIMOS festival “for its aesthetic qualities, its originality, the dancers’ theatrical abilities as well as the technical mastership of their physicality.”
