Suivez les instructions
Five dancers listen to the same orders via voice-over, each interpreting these instructions in their own way.
The point of departure is the game ‘Simon says’:
Five dancers listen to the same orders via voice-over, each interpreting these instructions in their own way.
Three tableaux unfold simultaneously: two dancers bicker with each other; a couple cannot understand each other; a dancer builds a table like a Chinese puzzle.
Parallel stories are woven live, always with a common ground dictated by the game master who appears progressively more manipulative. As if by magic, the instructions correspond perfectly to every situation, yet take on a different meaning in each scene. The complexity of the game becomes a delicious gestural and dramaturgical labyrinth.
Beyond the game and manipulation, the foundation of the piece is the concept of the individual. Three characters (Albertine, her ‘spouse’ Hector and Charles, the ‘intruder’) materialise in the bodies of the five dancers, distributed as follows: two Albertines, two Hectors and one Charles who goes as far as changing bodies during the game.
