A film that focuses on the aesthetics of “poor materials”, at the crossroad between plastic arts, performance and dance.

First there is grey: the monotone grey of an industrial wasteland, the lead grey of clothes and the more transparent grey of the fences around the bodies. Then there is white: the white of the immaculate shirts of a mysterious group sitting at a table and the white, saturated, of light playing with architecture. Finally there is dance, slow and physical, absorbed by the tints and imperceptibly sweeping away our landmarks.

This film plays on the aesthetics of humble materials, half-way between visual arts (Fischli and Weiss for the object telescoping sequence), performance (German happenings) and dance (the energy of the contact-improvisation subdued by a writing concerned with forms). A Kafkaesque atmosphere of desolation and absurdity. With this second production, Stefan Schneider, interpreter with the Sidonie Rochon company, gives the feeling of undertaking the exploration of a coherent universe, fragile although extremely assertive.
