“It would be pointless to try to say what Mammame is “telling” us, because Jean-Claude Gallotta has managed to reach a superb balance between the temptation of having an over-explicit narrative, and an over-simplistic recourse to nonsense. Gallotta has chosen something between the two, which makes familiar gestures seem alien and alien gestures seem familiar.
