It begins like a karaoke night. In other words, an ecosystem outside everyday life, where all kinds of emotional outpourings are possible, and where the intimate is performed. The audience, mingling with the five dancers, is invited to come and sing their own beautiful love song. Until, like a natural extension of the music, a slow dance begins. Habib Ben Tanfous’ approach does not focus on the physical practice of this dance, but rather on its various components: the invitation to the meeting of two bodies moving together for the first time, or not; the reciprocal adjustments necessary to continue this rapprochement; the signs and messages exchanged throughout; and finally, the different ways of bringing this moment to a close. Created as part of the Orchestre vide longing for you project, scheduled for 2026, this show uses the slow scene as a choreographic and theatrical situation. Here, physical language becomes the spontaneous medium through which two individuals communicate with each other, each carrying his or her own story and vulnerabilities. Orchestre vide longing for you is due to premiere in April 2026 at Théâtre Varia in Brussels, and will tour at Les Subs in Lyon, at Charleroi danse and during the June Events festival.
