Laurence De La Fuente
Laurence de la Fuente is a writer and director. She frequently immerses herself in various hospital settings to write, and runs writing workshops that echo her own texts.
‘Laurence de la Fuente is a researcher, a discoverer of texts, who is not afraid to bring to the stage texts that were originally non-theatrical. She was one of the first to bring texts by Antonio Lobo Antunes, Laurent Mauvignier and Alban Lefranc to the stage. She offers French stage writing that is at once feminist, poetic, intimate and subterraneanly political, and that can touch everyone, both as individuals and as spectators, in their personal histories and perceptions of contemporary art. She chooses actors with a strong sense of singularity and personality, who do not reproduce the classic codes of performance but are willing to expose their sensitivity, their strangeness and their love of the stage. She produces innovative stage objects that are as close as possible to a contemporary reality, whether it’s a play on the set of Facebook or a contemporary icon like Nico’.
