Brenda Bufalina
Brenda Bufalino is a mixed-genre artist: Dancer, Choreographer, Author, and Ceramicist. Ms. Bufalino performs, lectures, and teaches master classes throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. As a performance artist, monologist, singer and tap dancer, her one-person shows, “Cantata & The Blues”, “Journal of a Woodpecker,” “Unaccompanied,” and “Tapping Against the Wind,” have been performed in prestigious venues, Nationally and Internationally from l983 to the present. In l975 she produced and directed the award-winning documentary, “Great Feats of Feet…portrait of the jazz tap dancer,” featuring Charles “Honi” Coles and the Copasetics. In l986 Ms. Bufalino created The American Tap Dance Orchestra. The ATDO’s concert, stage and film highlights include among others: The PBS special “Great Performances/ Tap Dance in America with Gregory Hines,” “NYC Town Hall,” “The Joyce Theater,” and “Dance Theater Workshop.” International appearances include performances in Germany, Rome, and a State Department tour of Eastern Europe. The National Endowment deemed two of her choreographies, “Buff Loves Basie Blues,” and “The Haitian Fight Song” American Masterpieces.
