Le chorégraphe Éric Minh Cuong Castaing a fondé la compagnie Shonen en 2007. Il est depuis 2016 artiste associé au Ballet National de Marseille.
 Au sein de sa compagnie, il a signé une quinzaine de créations – spectacles, installations, performances, films – mettant en relation danse et nouvelles technologies (robots humanoïdes, drones, réalité augmentée…).

Ses projets, qu’il qualifie d’ « in socius », prennent forme au sein de réalités sociétales, en partenariat avec des institutions (laboratoires de recherches, écoles, hôpitaux, ONG…) en dehors monde de l’art. Éric M.C.C. explore ainsi les modes relationnels des corps et ses représentations à l’ère du numérique, interrogeant les dualités art/société, réel/fiction, nature/culture,

organique/artificiel.
 Le travail de sa compagnie est diffusé en France et en Europe (Centre Pompidou, CND Paris, Palais de Tokyo, Charleroidanse, Tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf, Tanzquartier Vienne, Lowry Manchester…).

Choreographer Eric Minh Cuong Castaing, born in Seine-Saint-Denis, founded the company Shonen in 2007. It is since 2016 associate artist at the National Ballet from Marseille. In his company, he has signed fifteen creations – shows, installations, performances, films … – bringing dance and new technologies into contact (humanoid robots, drones, augmented reality …). 

His projects, which he describes as in socius, take shape within societal realities, in partnership with institutions (research laboratories, schools, hospitals, NGOs …) outside the world of art. Éric MCC thus explores the relational modes of bodies and their representations in the digital age, questioning the art / society duality, real / fiction, nature / culture, organic / artificial. The work of his company is disseminated in France and in Europe (Pompidou Center, CND Paris, Tokyo Palace, Charleroi Danse, Tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf, Tanzquartier Vienna, Lowry Manchester …)
