Sentinelele naftalina is a piece created during a residency at the D.C.M. Foundation in Bucharest, Romania, following the invitation by Cosmin Manolescu, a member of the fourth Programme des Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes.
Sentinelele naftalina was created for four Romanian dancers, for one night only. Four desert sentries stand watch, heads atop bodies like fists, suspicious, discreet, vaguely black and afflicted with an environmental dependency syndrome.
