Katarzyna Sitarz, born in Poland, is a dancer, performer, choreographer, and movement researcher. She studied Slavic Philology at Wratislavia University, Poland and Dance and Choreography at Codarts/Rotterdam Dance Academy, Holland.

Her solo work « When the last candle is blown out… » toured extensively in Holland, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Brazil. She was also a recipient of an artistic scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Education in The Netherlands and Poland. In 2011, she received the Tanja Liedtke Fellowship, which brought her to Australia to conduct her own artistic research and to collaborate with Lucy Guerin Inc. She also took part in the multicultural 17th ASEF University in Penang, Malaysia, where she co-created a photo exhibition about intangible heritage. In summer 2012, Katarzyna was one of the residents at OMI International Dance Collective in Gent, USA, where she extensively collaborated with peers from the contemporary dance field, extending her previous artistic research and experiences. Katarzyna is currently working internationally as a freelance choreographer and performer with artists such as Christoph Winkler (Germany) and the most recently with MAAS Theatre and Dance (Holland).
